It seems that World Access Marketing and the other names it goes by has now arrived in Richmond, Virginia. I encountered them in March.
They are known here as Second Street Marketing and Tidewater Events.
I too had been drawn to the entry-level ads with decent salaries. I was called in for an interview immediately and came to a small office where there were many applicants. I applied to Second Street Marketing, but came into a Tidewater Events office. The reps were making calls to new candidates as I waited for my interview.
Before my interview, I tried to find out info on the company (both names) and did not have much luck. I went to the interview anyway. A young man with spiked hair interviewed me. When I asked him what they did, he gave me the info about sports marketing and working for non-profits. I asked him why there was no website (at that time, there was not one) and he told me it was because they were new to the Richmond market and had not developed one yet. He told me they were a NJ based company. I also asked him if SSM and Tidewater Events were the same company. He told me that Tidewater Events was letting them use their space until they got set-up in Richmond.
I thought the whole thing was sketchy and am very glad they did not call me in for a second interview. Now I know.
