I have had an account with sears in good standing for my years but recently I have been treated as if my account is in default. I made a payment in the local K-mart (now part of sears) on the day it was due but it was not credited for 2 days after the payment & was charged late fees & additional fiancee charges.
When I called customer service you would have thought my payments were late every month which they are not, in fact I usually have paid my account off in full every month. Subsequently, I did pay my balance off in full. My payment date has been around the 25Th every month for the past several years but this month it was changed to 10 days earlier. When I called to question the change in date (if I had not noticed the change my payment would likely have been payed late) I was told that if you pay your balance in full after carrying a balance the grace period is only 20 days.
Is this so sears can collect more late fees from the honest person that pays there bill on time & in full? Over the past few years I have also had bad experiences with this card being put in to fruad investigation because I tavelled out of the area even with notified of my plans previous to leaving.
I have over 100,000 points available in rewads & when there are gone I will not use my card & I will never recommend the company to anyone.in fact if I am in line @ either Sears or K-Mart & I over hear a new cerdit card being offered I will speak up loudly & discourage anyone from applying.
