On May 25th I received my Capital One VISA in the mail with instrusctions on how to activate my card as well as how to transfer my ballance from another credit card. When I attempted to transfer the ballance from another card, I was told that I did not have a high enough credit line to do so, whereupon I told the girl from Capital One that I was not interested in the credit card - (the deal was supposed to be for 0% interest on the transfered ballance).
Suddenly, I was put on the phone with "the boss" who told me he could only transfer $700 of the aprox. $1700 ballance.
Again, I told Capital One that I was not interested, whereupon "the boss" offered to transfer the ballance at 2.9% in 7-10 Days, after havind transferred the origional $700. I accepted the card under those conditions, and (stupid me). Took them at their word.
At the end of June, I got a statement from the card that I stupidly believed should now have no ballance, and found that I still had a ballance of over $1100.
When I called Capitol One, I was told that I did not have enough credit for the transfer, whereupon after talking with aprox. 4 more "bosses" I was told that they would raise my credit limit and transfer the ballance. Again, stupidly, I assumed that I was not talking to a liar, and believed them.-this takes us to aprox 28 or 29 June.
Along comes late July and WHAT A SUPPRISE-The Liars Still have not transsfesrred the ballance!!!
I talk then to "Brian - (39L7) Who assures me that he knows Just how I feel, and offers to get the problem solved. The next day I speak to Kim Musick - (ext 494-3426) who tells me that she has seen to it that a check in the proper amount has been issued and is on it's way to pay off the ballance on the old credit card.
It is now 8/3/02; I have now paid 2-3 late charges on the old card, it iss 3:43 pm est. And I just got off the phone with the old credit card company, and guess what... The liars still have not transferred the ballance!!!
