In September I interviewed and took on an account for my cleaning business, which I solely own and operate, honestly;cash and carry. When Lori, Gregor Kohn's secretary asked if I was licensed and insured, I informed her, as most people who strictly clean, i was not, if I was I'd charge a higher rate. I made this CLEAR. I was hired. Mr. Kohn apparently liked my work, pursuading me to also clean for his ill mother and his wife at his own home.
I gave him a weekly package discount, he provided supplies. It came to a point he wanted me to work for him exclusively, which I refused. Shortly thereafter, he would not be available at said office where I worked Saturdays, when I'd recieve the weekly check.
I continued working, we never worked with statements, as Greg and I had seemingly developed a rapport, but by the 3rd week, I felt I must leave a statement $525.00.
Monday, Lori called to cancel my service. He then refused to pay me. Lori told me he hired a full time person (the job he'd offered to me).
When I inquired to him, he said my work was substandard, and paid me $200, telling my lawyer I posed to be licensed and insured, when, why did he not have a copy of policy and license number? This type of man is a detriment to the small business person and a user, and needs to be stopped
