The other day I received (via USMail) three of the six money orders I have sent to these guys. They came with a generic form with an X placed beside the line which reads: Limited Endorsement on the check. Ex—paid in full, settlement in full, final payment, etc).
Does anyone know what this means? They haven't called me here at work for a long time, and this is the first time they've sent me anything in the mail.
I thought that if a bill collector refused payment that the bill would be considered paid. Is this true?
Also, can they take my income tax refund? It's not just in my name—I file jointly with my husband. He's not aware of this whole mess because the credit card in question was in my name only, and he didn't know I had it.
Please help!
