I have several credit cards with one company and had put one away and have not used it for six months. Today I looked at my year end credit card statement and guess what? There was a charge of $79.95 by leanRX. I never ordered this and have no idea how they got our credit card number. However, sometime in March I had sent for a free bottle of Hoodia and they billed me for $99 for a months supply which I had not ordered.
It took the better part of two days to contact a person to talk to and I really got a run around. I threatened to talk to the attorney general and finally was able to resolve the situation and sent the material back by registered mail. (Complete with tracking number which required they sign for)
I believe the hoodia people got revenge on me by charging my card for the leanRX in September. Unfortunately for me I was not using that card and somehow the statements were being sent to another address and I was unaware of this charge.
Now I owe $287 because of late charges. The cc company has been working with us and we have reduced this to $189.18. But we still do not have the leanRX issue resolved. I'm still trying to figure out how our mailing address from the credit card company got changed without our authorization. I'm not sure but I think the hoodia people were located in Ontario. I do know that the company name was Nova Point.
