I signed up for the internet phone service thinking that I would save money on my phone bill. I wound up being a month without phone service and am still fighting with them to return their adaptor.
First of all, they do not tell you that if for any reason you wish to cancel the service, you have to wait 10 business days for them to release your phone number back to Verizon or your previous carrier, so basically you are then stuck for 2 weeks without a working phone unless you opt to change your number, but they cannot record an outbound message informing callers that you changed your number.
They sent me the adaptor to hook up to the phone. They charge you a $50 fee for the adaptor which they refund when you return it. When I plugged everything in, my phone line was dead. I called customer service twice and spent a total of an hour and a half on the phone with tech support trying to troubleshoot the problem. Nothing worked. I got frustrated after a week with no service and canceled it. They put me on hold for 45 minutes before I wound up hanging up.
I called again and was transferred three times to three different people just to cancel the service. They finally explained that they had to send me a UPS shipping label in order for them to properly credit the return of my adaptor. They promised the label would arrive in 5-7 days.
Nearly two months after canceling the service, and several phone calls in between still no return shipping label. They claim they don't know what happened. One rep even had an old address I haven't lived at in over 3 years as the label address. I am not sure where she even got it from as when I opened the account, I gave them my current information. They also managed to find me to send me a BILL for nearly $60 for the monthly service even though I was an entire month without a working phone.
The customer service is horrible. No one seems to know anything or why these things happen. Don't be fooled by the ads that you will save so much on your bill.in the long run the headaches and aggravation aren't worth the supposed $10 a month you will save. What a nightmare and rip off. I am still fighting to get my account credited.
