Complaint / Review
E-Commerce Exchange, ECX
Ripoff

On Dec 29, I contacted Don at NWC inquiring about their merchandise sales program. He gave me the info and I told him I would get back with him.

On Jan 20, Marc Kesner of E Commerce Exchange contacted me.
He said he was with NWC. He was soliciting me to get into the web based sales business. I told him I had already spoken with Don from NWC and that is was only fair I dealt with him so he would get the commission.
Marc said him and Don work together as partner's so Don would get the commission. (I contacted Don and told him what Marc said and Don't reply was "that's bullshit" that Marc would get the commission.)

I told Marc I would need to talk this over with my wife. He got pushy and said if I sign up now and don't wait to talk with my wife he would also add the Gifts and Novelities to my web site for $395 instead of the normal price of $500. (The Gifts and Novelities are products from SMC which Marc did not mention, I was already involved with SMC so why would I want to pay $395 for something I already had.)
I told March that since I am unemployed I was hesitant on getting involved because of the cost.

Marc told me not to worry, since I was unemployed now would be the perfect time to get involved in the business that I would be making money in 30 days and would have the money to make the monthly payment of $99.
He also said for $209.90 he would add the advertising package to promote my business and also optomize my web site so it would get viewed by shoppers. Reluctently I got involved in the program. (I recently received a call from webmarketingsource.com telling me they were advised to complete a web site analysis due to a lack of traffic, sales and a lower than normal page rank, which is a result of not having a proper search engine optimization. So I paid $209.90 for something I was not getting.)

To this day I have not made any money. I'm losing money every month. I emailed Thomas Stridiron of E Commerce Exchange and told him of my displeasure of the business and also mentioned to him about the money I paid for advertising and the money I paid for the Gifts and Novelities products whic I was already involved in. I told him I wanted a refund of the $209.90 and the $395 since E-Commerce Exchange did not deliver on those transactions. His replay was ("On the forms you endorsed there is a disclosure form that you initialed that said you understood that this is a business and no promises have been made to you as far as income. It also states that you understand that it is up to you to generate the income, etc. We clearly put that on the forms so you can see that the bottom line is going to depend on your independent efforts. After all, this is your business.) There was nothing like that stated about the advertising I paid for.

Sometime in May Marc called me and told me I am making him look bad with no sales.
He told me he had another opportunity I could get involved with selling security products. Marc said I should get involved in this program since I would be in profit in 30 days. I mentioned to him I was still making monthly payments on the first opportunity he sold me. He told me it's crazy throwing money into a business that is not making me money. He said if I got involved in this new program that in 30 days I would make enough money to pay for the first business and start making a profit.

I told him I could not afford it since I was still unemployed. He said I should really consider the new program because it would make me money.

It appears to me he is saying the first program is not a money maker even though when he sold it to me he siad I would make money in 30 days (hmm just like the new program.)

I am also getting $35 deducted from my checking account every month by iPayment Inc. To accept credit cards on my web site.

I called iPayment to stop the deductions from my checking account because I was no longer going to accept credit cards. Why pay for that service when I have no sales. They told me sorry we can't you will have to talk to E Commerce Exchange.

The following is quoted from the contract from iPayment ("Your first sale processed through the Merchant Account shall be deemed your acceptance of and acknowledgment to teh foregoing terms and conditions, including without limitation thereto, the enclosed Schedule of Fees") Since no transactions have taken place how can they justify deducting $35 from my checking account every month.

E Commerce Exchange is also deducting $15 every month from my checking account to be able to accept credit cards on my web site.

My recommendation would be to not do business with E Commerce Exchange. The sales pitch was nothng but a lie to me.
