I heard a radio advertisement soliciting distributors in the Indianapolis area for a digital imaging business opportunity through National Imaging Distributors. I called the toll-free number and was transferred to Peter Hanson. After our twenty minute telephone conversation, I began to have second thoughts. I called him a couple of days after our conversation and told him that I decided not to proceed with this business opportunity. He put the sales pressure on me. I even told him that he was definitely a salesperson! He told me that he just truly believed in the product and that he knows without a doubt that with the locations that I had requested, when the machines were delivered and they started generating sales that I would cry "uncle." I replied, well I sure hope so!
To be brief, Peter Hanson and Mike Bunnicello contacted me daily with "exciting" news, reciting the same locations over and over again. Big ten universities, etc. He then told me that Jack Teitelbaum had a "special" going to increase his volume purchase power. I negotiated four more machines for $50,000! I wired the money for the first 4 and flew down to Tamarac and personally handed Jack $50,000 for the remaining four.
Why didn't I listen to my husband and daughter!!! While supportive, they tried to encourage me to wait until I had the first 4 machines in place. I would have only been out of half of my money... Which is still an awful lot! This has been a tremendous set back for me. I felt that with the wave of digital tecnology, it was a viable business. Time is of essence.
