I was contacted via phone by a company that said it's name was Capital One, a well established reputable company. Only after they stoled $200.00 out of my checking account did I find out their real name. I was told that I would receive a Visa or Master Card, my choice ; with a credit line of at least $2000.00.
All I had to do is give them a two hundred dollar deposit, which I would get back in the form of 4ea. $50.00 vouchers that I could use on my first purchase. It was also stated that I would get a very low intrest rate that would never increase.
The next thing I received, after they helped themselfs to my checking account was a ridiculous looking credit application that looked like a first grader wrote. It stated after it was completed and returned, my new card and vouchers would be on the way.
It was only then did I find out it was a merchant card only good for purchases for cheaply made copies of different mechandise that was over priced. Their own catalog shows the retail price of the item to be far below what they call YOUR PRICE.
I placed a call to CAPITAL FINANCIAL immediatley. It was no suprise when it took almost an hour to get someone on the phone. I'm sure all of their people were very busy ripping off other suckers like myself.
They claimed that they never used Capital One as a business name, which is the first thing they did on the first phone call they made to me.
After I reqested my money back, the customer service rep said I would have to write to some Dispute Resoloution Board, that their company had set up just for these types of reasons. Needless to say what kind of results that will get you.
I will be contacting my bank to close my account and reopen another one in the morning, while I'm trying to get my money back.
I will update this as the plot to rip me off unfolds
