Let it be known that NAPE has had a professional administrator complete an audit of NAPE members who were enrolled under the auspices of Smart Choice, LLC an independent telemarketing agency and administered by International Med-Care of El Paso Texas.
While deductions from checking accounts and charges to credit cards were made under NAPE's name, the actual transfer was made by International Med-Care into an account controlled by (IMC). IMC then distributed funds to parties that provided benefits and services to members as well as keeping a portion for themselves as an 'administration fee; NAPE received a very small portion of the amount collected per month for the benefits it provided to members who were Solicited by Smart Choice and administered by IMC.
In December it came to NAPE's attention that Smart Choice was misrepresenting NAPE membership as Insurance and that IMC was not getting anrollment material to members in a timely fashion, if at all, and that IMC was having difficulty in billing members correctly. Because of this situation, NAPE has (1) cancelled its association with IMC and Smart Choice: (2) Deposited with Smart Choice $180.000 for member refunds, and (3) paid for and provided benefits on behalf of members enrolled in the plan up until and through any cancellation dates received. NAPE has spent all funds received on victims behalf for benefits in addition to providing funds to Smart Choice for member refunds. We are sorry you have been taken advantage of bt Smart Choice.

Important message to all victims of the Smart Choice Healthcare/Nape Scam Of 2005. The truth of this matter is that NAPE cancelled its membership with Smart Choice Shortly after Nape discovered that Smart Choice was Scamming certain individuals on behalf of Nape's name. So be advised that when you contact Smart Choice and speak with the general manager, like I attempted, He will simply tell you that They/Smart Choice fired Nape. For this statement is nothing but a LIE. The fact of the matter is that the written truth is out and a lawsuit is in effect.
