I recently obtained a copy of my credit report and discovered an account with Sprint PCS in delinquency being collected by Cavalry Portfolio Services. This account was supposedly opened in Dec. 2003.
Imagine my surprise-I was incarcerated from so there's no possible way I opened this account! I called Cavalry and disputed the entry with the credit bureau-Cavalry's response has been that without a police report to prove fraud they will not remove this entry. They refuse to provide me with any type of contract or info. Unless I provide them a copy of my driver's license and social security card-which I refused to do having seen all of the fraud reports against them!
Cavalry not only reports fraudulent info. To the credit bureaus, they violate our rights as consumers. Should you have the misfortune of having to deal with this so-called company please report their behavior also!!
