Cavalry Portfolio Services & Sprint PCS
Attempts to obtain money by fraud

During January I received a "bill" from Cavalry Portolio Services in Tempe Arizona (also located at PO Box 1030, Hawthorne, NY 10532). They indicated I owed them $613 for an unpaid Sprint PCS bill from November. Contacted both Cavalry and Sprint PCS and informed them I have never had a Sprint PCS.informed them that they should send me copies of the documentation. Cavalry rep told me to submit it in writing; Sprint PCS said they would send the information.

After talking to both Cavalry and Sprint PCS, I paid for a 3-in-1 credit report. Noticed on the report that Cavalry had made an entry in my credit history that was dated a month before I received any notification.

After a couple of weeks, I received an envelope from Sprint PCS. It did not contain any documentation regarding the alleged bill, but had a form letter where they wanted a copy of my Social Security Card, Driver's License, and bills that showed my residence address.

Soon after, I received the same type form from Cavalry. As with Sprint PCS, the Cavalry correspondence did not contain any of the documentation I requested. They also wanted a copy of my Social Security Card, Driver's License, Police Report, and past bills that showed my account and residence.

I've attempted to contact both Sprint PCS and Cavalry, but in most cases end up being asked by a recording to leave my phone number (which I have done once with Cavalry and never received a call back).

Because of their unethical practices (on the part of both Cavalry and Sprint PCS), I've had to pay for a copy of my credit history; four certified letters to Cavalry and Sprint PCS; and countless hours of personal time.

To date, the entry remains in my credit history.in discussions with a lawyer, I was informed on what type letter to send them (which I did) and then all I could do is sit back and wait. The lawyer said this type of activity could go on for an extended period of time (in the meantime, I still have an entry in my credit!)

Why can't the government (state or federal) take some sort of action against these companies who seem to pick names out of a hat and then ruin their credit?
