I am a family member (husband) of a U of Phoenix (which our family now calls Amway U) student. Essentially, I was driven to this site by the anguish my wife is suffering each and every day we are involved in this rip-off outfit. Calling a spade a spade, and loving her dearly, I must admit she was suckered by the UOP siren song—shame on her.
Where to begin? She is in a constant battle with UOP student aid and the staff revolving (turnover) door. She cannot communicate on-line in an online school as UOP IT services are pathetic—thereby involving me as a computer tech.
She can never concentrate on schoolwork as she is in a constant battle with UOP admin! This battle has become an albatross, wrapped around the neck of our family.
The bottom line is that UOP has cost our family an enormous amount money and heartache. We have lost money and have no respect for this "institution." Even if she does graduate, who cares? The amount of online blog complaints agains UOP, as well as state and federal authorites constantly responding to consumer complaints have made this "school" a sham: Amway U, friends; like Amway, only UOP cult members give UOP students credit.
I was lucky enough to attend the University of California, Berkeley. How many complaints on this site mention UC Berkeley? I own my business and will most assuredly will never hire a UOP "grad." Why? Because we can't afford to hire suckers.
