The University Of Phoenix are telling students that their pell grants are not the amount the Department of Education is assigning EFC (Earn Family Contibution) for. For an Example: I was awarded $3600.00 for pell grant for the 2005 and 2006 aid year. I never received an award letter from the school even after requesting for my 2005 and 2006 award letter. Only after I inquired several times to the school administration that a copy was e-mailed to me.
Everything concerning my pell grant was altered from the Department of Education report. The University of Phoenix stated that only $1800.00 was disbursed because my schedule ran into a new aid year, I had met all requirements for my second disbursement and The University Of Phoenix took the other half of my pell grant, I talked to a financial counselor who stated that The University of Phoenix has taken the other half of other students grants and doing what with the money? Is what I want to know. I think this school is all for money in way they can take it.
