I called America Online after Hurrican Ivan destroyed my home and all my personal belongings including computer etc. I had no home no computer and called 3 days after Ivan to cancel my account. They did not document or cancel my account but continued to charge me for Broadband and I did not have Broadband when I did have AOL.
I called them back after 5 months I got a bill and was outraged. They were charging me for services I no longer had or could of had after calling # 1 and no telephone service no computer and we were renting at the time. I have not used them since September.
So how can they charge me when I had nothing to go online with? Then when I would not pay they change the Bill to my wife's name. Oh but get this they deducted the charges from my credit card account without permission, I canceled it and then they charged again or tried to, but I filed a rebuttal.
I did call them again and the lady was yelling at me I could not understand what she was saying she was from who knows where. How can they legally do this?
