It's the 13th of September about 8:30 pm. I get a call from a man claiming to be representing the government in a grant giveaway to a selected 2,500 people in the country.
He said I was eligable for a $12,500 grant from the government for a processing fee of $49.00. This grant would be tax free and would not have to be paid back. Sounded awsome!!!
He Sounded Asian or Idian I coudn't really tell. His accent was so strong I had to have him repeat himself over and over. He claimed this would have to be an 'account to account' transaction and needed my account information. (I've been told never to give your Banking, SS# or even some personal information, to anyone for anything over the phone or on the internet.)
After remembering this, I told him that I shared an account with my dad and that I would have to get a check # or account # from him first. He kindly gave me his name (Gary Woods; funny - not a typical Asian or Idian name.in other words, he could have just as well been 'Mike Smith' from India) and address and said he would contact me tomorrow for the information.
I guess I'll see if he actually does. But I'll tell him my dad has too much money in the account and won't let me put any more in. But thank you anyway!
