I like others on this site received a phony claim that I owed 82.60 to AT&T Wireless from December. I have never been a customer of AT&T wireless. When I called the number on the paper, I was immediately asked for my SSN. What for? The "notice" has an "account #" and "reference #" I of course wrote to them to dispute the charge and have not heard anything back. I sure wish before even calling them I had put their name in a Google search and found this website, I did only after calling them. I have filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission www.ftc. Gov and am hoping not to have to dispute a negative credit report as they have threatened to report. Besides the FTC you should check your credit report with Equifax, Transunion, and Experian.
