I am amazed how many people got riped off besides me. One night I saw the infomercial about SMC and how the program works so I decided to try it. So I called SMC and gave them my info.in a few days I recieved the package. And everything in there was kind of different from what the informercial has said.
I didn't payed much attention cause all I saw was "Make money easy and fast". Eveything in the catalogue looked good and looked like it would make nice gifts. But the sale price was kind of high. I thought that a high price like this means it would be good in quality. So I went to show it to my neighboors, friends, relatives, ect.
When I recieved the merchandise and gave the merchandise to my customers. It looked different from what it looked like in the catalogue. I thought this was the way how this program works. Well I buy a large volume of the best sellers to sell at an upcoming 4 DAY flea market event.
Well turns out they didn't sell well. I lost about 65% of my money into that. When I had took a break from my post and went surfing all around the flea market. I saw several sellers selling the same things I had for much less.
For example, the ceramic dolphins that the sale price was $16.95. The other vendors were selling for $4 each. And I paid $6.95 for each at my price. I also noticed that they came from a different source. So after the event, when I got home I did A LOT of research.
I come to find out that a lot of things MADE IN CHINA. Are cheaply made in quality. When i saw that i thought to myself, "Come to think of it, Everything that I ordered was MADE IN CHINA."
To my conclusion, I think that SMC IS also a middleman in business, because we're not buying directly from the factory in which they are made. Also SMC says to claim that they've opened up several warehouses at some football sizes in several other states. Well, everything that I got came from the same warehouse and not another state.
I also talked personally to another SMC member and she also says that they come from the same warehouse. I also tried different technicques in selling the products so i opened up my own web site. And the website didnt sell a cent for 3 months.By the 3rd month i closed the site. And edend loosing around $400. Just on the site.
I went to another BIG FLEA MARKET EVENT. I saw several vendors selling again the same thing as SMC at cheaper prices. So i talked to one of the vendors and asked where they got it. The vendor said that they get it directly from china at some site thats something like MadeInChina.com not really sure so in cant say.
So again I did some more research and amazingly I found almost all the merchandise that SMC sells, selling in that site for less than the sale price and much less in our price list. Both price and shipping are high for the Items that SMC sells.
My conclusion is that SMC gets things cheap in price and quality for us to sell them higher at low quality. SMC is making more money than we are making selling.
What I came across was that the Items NOT MADE IN CHINA, Taiwan, or Thailand are better in quality and the price is good for those items not from SMC.
If you plan to open up gift shops or sell individually, I recomend to not get items from SMC. Or if you plan on getting items that are from SMC. DO NOT GET THEM FROM SPECIALTY MERCHANDISE CORP.
Do some research and get them directly from the factories in China. Therefore you won't get ripped off, nor will you rip off your customers.
