I recently disputed a double entry with equifax so that i could have the older of the two accounts removed. Equifax claimed that they had verified the information. Too bad for them the company went bust and was shut down by the government 2-3 yrs ago. So who did they contact to verify the information???
When I called Customer service to resolve this matter, the rep even noted that the accounts were linked and were the same but refused to remove the older of the two accounts.
The fall back was to verify the account again (guess the crystal ball is being used).
I am getting the letters to the appropriate govt offices ready because I know that I will have to file complaints. Plus Im sure my attorney will have fun with them as well.
