My Family Was Lookin For A New Truck In 2000. I went To Low Book Sales Because I Had Heard The Ads. I Found A Beautiful Black Tacoma. They Took My Down Payment And Said I Was Approved. Three Weeks Later They Called And Asked Me To Come Down, So I Did. At The Dealership They Told Me They Could Not Approve Me On The Tacoma, But They Had A 1995 3/4 Ton Dodge Ram They Could Approve Me On. Since They Already Had My Money I Said OK. Not Being A Mechanic, I Drove It Around The Block It Drove OK. It Was Saturday Night. That Evening When I Got Home The Oil Light Was On, So I Put Some Oil In Till It Was Full. The Next Morning I Went To Work In Provo (Lived In West Jordan) Halfway There (10-12 Miles) The Oil Light Came On Again, So I Stopped And Filled It Up.By The End Of The Day I Had Used 14 Quarts Of Oil In A Truck That Only Holds 7. When I Got Home I Started Lookin The Truck Over. OIL WAS BLOWIN STRAIGHT OUT OF MY TAILPIPE! At This Point I Called One Of My Mechanics, He Said Bring It By In The Morning.
By Monday Morning I Had Found Numerous MAJOR PROBLEMS! The Four Wheel Drive Was Messed Up BAD! It Would Not Engage Most Of The Time & When It Did It Made HORRIBLE GRINDING NOISES And Would Not Disengage, Finally I Had To Crawl Underneath & Manually Disconnect It! There Was No Pump For The Windshield Washer! However That Passed Inspection Is Beyond Me! Not To Mention Several Other OBVIOUS Items That Would NEVER HAVE PASSED A REAL INSPECTION.
At The Mechanics They Told Me The Engine Was Blown So Bad It Could Not Even Be Rebuilt! Plus They Showed Me Several Items That Were In Need Of Immediate REPAIR! They told me it could not have passed an inspection and it was dangerous to drive!!! The Transmission Was Almost Dead, The Front End Needed To Be Rebuilt, The Transfer Case Was Broke Inside, The Passenger Window Did Not Roll Up Or Down, The Wipers Did Not Work (Motor Blown) Plus NO PUMP! Brakes, Rotors, And Callipers Needed To Be Replaced! Motor Mounts Were Broke! Plus The Belts Were Not Goin Straight AND CAME OFF WHILE I WAS ON MY WAY HOME!!!
So I Went To Low Book and Asked If I Could Exchange For A Different Vehicle. They Said It Was Not Possible Because The Loan Had Already Gone Through, Yet It Was Only Monday Afternoon!
So I Asked For The Owner, Jarrod The Owner Would Not Talk To Me Personnaly, But Said Quote "We Will Fix Everything For You Since It Has Only Been Two Days" Little Did I Know He Was Just Stalling Me So They Could Get Paid By The Bank!
After Droppin Off My Truck To Get A New Motor In It, They Had It Almost 2 Months Before I Got A CAll From The Mechanic Stating I Needed To Bring In $500 To Pay For The Labor! So I Told Them I Would Pay 2 Weeks After I Get The Truck Back, I Had Already Made 1 Payment On A Truck I DID NOT HAVE. So They Put The Motor (A Used Rebuilt!) In And Finally Gave My Truck. When I Asked About Getting The Rest Fixed They Told Me The Motor Cost More Than They Thought It Would And I Would Have To Pay For The Rest Of The Repairs!
Mad I Went To The DMV To Inform Them Of The Fake Or Never Done Inspection. They Said Low Book Sales DOES THEIR OWN INSPECTIONS! And they could not do anything because it might have been damaged from someone test drivin it! What a bunch of crap! Nobody could have done that much damage in a test drive! I Finally Ended Up With A $13,000 Truck That Needed More Repairs Than It Was WORTH! And It Only Had 50,000 Miles On It! Now When I Buy A Used Car I Take To A Mechanic First, And I Dont Ever Buy From LOWLIFE SALES!!! I Have Also Found Several Similar Complaints To Mine About This Fraudulent Dealership. So Take Warning Before You Consider Buying A Car From LOWBOOK! And Wont Somebody Please Press Charges Or Investigate These Guys Before They RIP OFF More Innocent Trusting Families!!
