I went to Leslie's Pools at Holcombe and Buffalo Speedway in Houston, Texas, to get my water tested - a service they advertise. They asked what problem I was having and I said I was just checking to see how the water was doing. An employee named Zachry told me that I should not be asking for the service unless I had a problem or else I wouldn't need to buy anything. I told him Leslie's had been testing water for me for free for the last several years, without complaint. He said that it cost Leslie's $15.00 per test, reasoning that they were paid $60/hr and it took 15 minutes to do a test. (Once they've gotten around to it, it's never taken anyone at Leslie's more than 5 minutes to do a water test). I informed Zachry that I probably spent $1,000 - $2,000 per year on chemicals there. I told him that the last time I was in the store, several weeks before, I'd spent over $300. Finally, I informed him that due to his rude nature and apparent annoyance about providing any service unless he got a substantial sale, he would not have to worry about me darkening Leslie's door in the future. I hope for Leslie's sake that Zachry does not represent their true attitudes towards their customers. If so, they should be avoided. If not, they may want to get more polite, courteous and thoughtful employees. This was the first problem I've had with Leslie's, but reading the other reviews, this treatment seems to warn of sinester undercurrents.
