I also purchased an Oreck vacuum on 2/18/02, I am now writing this on 9/16/04 and have yet to be refunded for my purchase. I received the Oreck after my husband and I had looked at many vacuums we had two dogs and the Oreck looked like it would last for years. After 1 week the motor started smoking! I packed it up with the return label and sent it off. I KEPT THE TRACKING NUMBER!
After months of still being billed for it I called and asked for a refund. I was told the ONLY person who could hepl me worked at night and I would have to call back at 11 pm PST. So I stayed up night after night calling about my refund. FINALLY I did find a nice woman who was willing to talk to me. She asked for my tracking number which she seemed surprised I had! I gave it to her and told her I had tracked it myself and that it arrived on such and such a date. She put me on hold and NEVER CAME BACK.
I called again the next night and the next. Finally my husband got through and the person told him the only way to get a refund was to return the free gifts. We did so and still no refund. Now it has been 2 1/2 years and nothing. How can a company just keep your money??? We totally played by their rules and still no refund!
