We wanted to build our dream/retirement home on our property in Port Angeles, Wa. We saw the ad and different models of homes that Reality Homes builds, so we contacted a Sales Rep in Sequim, Wa. While we where trying to figure out which home would work best for us on our property, the sales rep, Rick Timmons, asked us twice to sign a contract with their company and we said no. We finally settled on a house plan, The Apple Tree and we called Rick Timmons to set up a appointment with him.
We currently live in Central California. So it would take us a couple of days to drive to Port Angeles, Wa. When we met with Rick Timmons on 12 June he showed us some samples of carpet, vinyl, cabinets, faucets, light fixtures and counter top material. We asked about making some of our selections for these items at this time and we were told that this would happen at the final singing of the contract. We both thought this was rather strange.
We met with Rick Timmons again on 14 June. At this meeting a contract was presented to us for the Apple Tree House (modified), which we signed and then where asked to pay the $1,700.00 processing fee, which I did with a check. On 15 June we met with Rick Timmons and he informed us that our 2nd floor house plans would not work and they needed to be completely redone. Then he receives a call from the person who was going to do the excavating and site prep work that he is withdrawing from the project. I think what next?
Just before leaving the Port Angeles, Wa area on 16 June we stop in to see Rick Timmons and he tells us that a man named Phil, who is their design specialist, will be contacting us in a couple days to complete the design process. It has been over a month and we have had no contact from Phil. After the 2nd floor plans where completed, I contacted Rick Timmons, to suggest that a new contract be created, because their had been so many changes since the first one was signed. He did not reply. I sent a letter to the General Manager, Pat Eppright, stating some of my concerns and he did not reply. I called him twice and he would not take my call. Are you begining to get my drift? They like to operate with alot of smoke and mirrors. The way I feel about this company now, is that I would not let them build me a dog house. It would be unfair to the dog!!!
