Velma Timmons acted as a booking agent for gospel singer, Vanessa Bell Armstrong. Negotiations began in April for an event in November. A $5000 deposit was required to hold the date in November. $2500 was wired to Velma Timmons in June and another $2500 in July. When I made calls in early October to confirm some information, no responses were given to my phone calls, emails or faxes.
I contacted the record company connected with Vanessa Bell Armstrong and they were able to put me in touch with her manager. I was told by her manager that Velma Timmons was not authorized to book events and Vanessa Bell Armstrong had not agreed to perform at the event in November.
The Charlotte police was notified and an investigation began. It was determined that Velma Timmons was working with Vanessa Bell Armstrong in April. The initial wire of $2500 was received by Velma Timmons and $1725 of that was then wired to Vanessa Bell Armstrong's daughter. The 2nd wire was received by Velma Timmons also.in total, Velma Timmons stole $3275 and Vanessa Bell Armstrong's daughter stole $1725 because none of the money has been refunded and Vanessa Bell Armstrong did not perform at the event in Atlanta.
