Worst paving contractor in NJ & NY. Marie or Sandy & Victor Charles Zambuto will make up change orders and hold you hostage. They will not show up and then demand you pay them extra to finish. Stay away from this company!
If you have a door to door sales man named Pete or Charles, or Victor come to your door to give you an estimate on your driveway slam the door! Victor, or Charles as he likes to go by is the same person, I want to warn people about this scam artist and his wife, as well as his employees!
Victor Zambuto (AKA Charlie) came to my house with his salesmen Pete, who sold me on a new driveway for $6000. I gave them a deposit of $3000 with the balance upon completion. They gave me the business name Velve Top, However they told me to check out their website www.gsblacktop.com they claimed that they had been in business for12 years! The said that my driveway would look great and was guaranteed for 10 years. Charlie or Victor the liar showed up with a bunch of illegal immigrants and began to rip up my old driveway using a jack hammer, he said he was going to use a bobcat; it took them 3 days to remove my old driveway which Victor stated would take 1 day!
After that I didnt see him for two weeks, after the 1st week I tried to call him, NO Answer! The beginning of the 2nd week I finally got through to him and he told me he was very sorry but he was having problems with his salesman Pete was back on Heroine and that Victor was in the middle of trying to help his employee and keep his employees marriage together.
I said I Im sorry for your employees situation but what does that have to do with my driveway being completed. He then said that Pete (His Salesman) had underestimated the cost of the job because of his addiction to Heroin and cocaine and that he needed me to pay him an additional $3000 to complete the job. I was outraged but I had no driveway just dirt so I agreed! Another week went by and I called his toll free # but it was no longer in service, I then received a call from Pete who told me Charles was Really a Victor Zambuto who was involved with the mob and drug dealing he then told me an elaborate story about Victor and his girlfriend who is his ex-wife Sandy Zambuto and how they have robbed many families in Toms River& NJ How I should sue them etc Too much to type.
I then tried to contacted Sandy or Marie whatever her real name is at 732-608-6314, I got her son Named Nick who said that his Mother and Father were not home to try back later! I tried for the next 3 days when I finally got her on the line, she told me she is very sorry but she had Victor arrested for domestic abuse and could not help me that I should seek legal counsel!
At this point I did not know what to do! Finally I received a call from Victor who said he had been away attending his mothers funeral in NY, I did not know what to believe at this point I didnt are I just wanted my driveway finished, Victor then told me he was very sorry that this type of situation has never happened to him and that his wife was Bipolar and needed medication. But to finish the job he needed the balance of another $3000, I told him how uncomfortable I was with the whole situation he then persuaded me as a Christian to what was right by God, and That he was a devote born again Christian ETC So I agreed to give him the money. He showed up to my house the very next day with a girl that appeared to be high, with blonde hair, dressed half naked and very skinny, I asked him who she was, Victor told me she was his daughter, I asked what was wrong with her and he said she was drunk because of his wife, that his wife Sandy or Marie Zambuto gave her some vodka because she was upset about being pregnant.
I gave him a check for the $3000 BALANCE AND HE LEFT AND II NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN! I reached out to Sandy or Marie as well as Pete and Charles; they explained they would do everything they could to make it right. Well... It's been about a 3 months since my initial contact with them and they have provided numerous excuses and are no longer answering their phone or returning calls I now have ruts in my driveway along with the holes and cracks. I have left one last voicemail and will be retaining an attorney at the end of the week! I advise all NJ residents to stay far away from Victor Charles Zambuto and all his associates!
