I purchased a Kenmore refrigerator from Sears in San Jose California in December. During the following months of January through March the refrigerator was repaired a total of 4 times. On the final attempt to repair the unit the repairman left a defective part on my kitchen table and left with out saying a word about keeping the defective part.
I filed a claim with Sears in March for damaging the flooring under the refrigerator, the vinyl had rolled up.in April I received a letter from Sedgwick Claims (Angie Bauco) advising me that the claim was under review. After several week I followed up with Sedgwick and was advised that they would not honor my claim because the failure was caused by a part manufactured by LG Manufacturing in New Jersey. I contacted John Gruss at LG Manufacturing who advised me that they would not honor my claim without inspecting the failed part. The failed part was long gone in the trash as I was never advised to keep it and with a new refrigerator I didn't think it would be necessary to keep it. LG Manufacturing advised me that they would not honor my claim. I contacted Sears several more times and was given the run around on each occassion on the last call I was offered a $100.00 gift certificate and was told that that was a much as Sears could offer.
I have written Sears Corporate Advocate and Claims department in Illinois and am awaiting a response. This issue is clearly an attempt by Sears, Sedgwick and LG Manufacturing to ignore the fact that I was sold a faulty product which caused damage to my kitchen floor. It's almost unbelievable that a company like Sears would attempt to avoid and evade supporting their products.
