In Early June my wife and I purchased a home and wanted to have all the carpeting replaced prior to moving in. We called Alan Carpet Outlet in Macedonia, Ohio and they stated that they could do the job in the time frame we required. Several days later Alan Carpet came to the house to measure the house and order the carpet.
We were given an install date of about one week later. On the day they were scheduled to install the carpet we were called and told that the carpet did not come in and it would be another week. We were upset because we told them we had a very close timke frame but we felt we had no choice but to agree to the new install date. On the second date they schedule we were again called the day of the install and were told that the carpet never came in and that the install would have to be moved. Again we were upset but we thought that we would have a hard time finding another store that could march our time frame since we already wasted three weeks with Alan Carpet.
Once the carpet was in they installed the carpet and the install was terrible. You were able to see the seems from across the room. We called Alan Carpet and were told that we are being too pickey. After stating that we would not pay the remaining 50% owed on the carpet unless they fixed the seems they reluctantly agreed to fix the seems.
They sent the owners son out to the house and he fixed one seem. The other seem, which runs down the middle of our bedroom, he stated that it is acceptable to industry standards and he would not fix it. I have spet so much time and effort with them on the phone I told my wife to pay the bill and we would file a complaint with the attorney general.
We were told that if we wanted the discount we would have to pay the bill in cash. Not a check or credit card but it must be cash. The discount just happen to match the sales tax that would have been due on the bill.
I would advise everyone to stay as far away from this store as possible. We are now having to pay another store to come out and fix what Alan Carpet Outlet Inc.in Macedonia started.
