I needed fill for my yard. I contacted Reliable Soil Co. And they explained I had three choices: sand from the Bonne Carre Spillway (that has pistol grass), pump sand from the Mississippi River, or rich garden soil that was considerably more expensive ($130 versus $190). I originally ordered the pump sand and then called back and explained if I had to pay my gardener to spread the dirt, I may as well pay extra for the good dirt. They delivered the soil and my garden spread it. Once it was spread my garden said it was full of mulch. The next day it rained and my yard is just full of mulch. When I contacted them they explained that the rich garden soil was 80% mulch & 20% sand. They then told me I "should have known" that was the make-up of garden soil. When I explained that I had discussed my purpose of the dirt with them, they said "that's my problem, not theirs."
I clearly explained to them each time we talked the purpose of the soil I was purchasing.
