Tile and own Carpet One
I ordered a tile redo for my bathroom and was waited on by a sales person Mike Shapiro. 1 day later I came in to cancel the order because I found the exact same tile (same manufactured) for 1/3 the pri

I went to Tile and Carpet Town to get a new tile floor and tub surround for my main bathroom. The salesperson was Mike Shapiro who did absolutely nothing to help me with my selection, he just happened to be the sales person I got stuck with. I asked if I could speak to someone else who would help me more and he said no. I went ahead and selected my tile for the floor and walls as well as a specific glass trim tile. He sent the measurer out to my home and called me about 2 weeks later with a quote for the rip out and installation of the new tile.

During the 2 weeks I waited for his call I happened to be in and found the exact same tile that I wanted as was at Tile and Carpet Town and it was 2.95 s/f compared to tile and carpet town 8.95 s/f. I was shecked when Mike Shapiro called me and told me the tile job would be about 9,800.00 for a very small bathroom. I then went back to home depot and they came out and measured and the price they come up with was 4,800 for the complete rip out and installation.

I immediately went back to Tile and Carpet Town to get my 300.00 deposit back and Mike refused, telling me the tile had already been ordered which I knew was impossible as I had not signed any contract. I asked to speak to the manager who was Stewart Shapiro who happened to also be Mikes brother. He was so cocky and tried to tell me what a rotten job does and how superior his installers are and after 45 minutes I finally got my deposit back. 2 weeks later I had do the work and it was absolutely perfect. I had heard Tile and Carpet was a rip off, but never expected such rotten mean service and a difference in price of 4,000. I will never ever shop there again. Every single item they have can be purchased for at least half the price elsewhere.

Sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company. Plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome.
