I own a jeep cherokee and have been getting my oil changes done at monore muffler since it is conveniently located near my house in mansfield ohio. My cousin is an auto mechanic who i trust, so i always schedule any brake service with him. Two weeks ago i took my car to monore muffler for an oil change. Being a woman, i tend to leave the premises and either walk over to a nerby store or have someone pick me up. When i returned to monroe, the employee told me i needed brake pads and rotors on both the front and back of my vehicle. He also quoted me the price of $700.00 that his company could do it for. He then mentioned that the last time they offered me brake service, i declined. I delcined this time as well. A week later, i took my jeep to my cousins garage to see what issues i had with my brakes. When he removed the tires he could not beleive his eyes. The brake pads that were on the car, were not the ones he had put on them the last time he repaired my brakes. Also, the rotors were so far below the specs that they could not even be resurfaced. It is no doubt that he would have replaced the rotors if they would have needed it. I find it very interesting at the very least, that parts that were never on my vehicle were suddenly there and monore conveniently offered to fix my brakes for a price. The scary thing is that if i would have really needed my brakes in an emergency, i might of had a bad accident. Never again, will i take my car there and neither should you.
