Despite terrible reviews online I went ahead and ordered this refrigerator through appliancesconnection.com
They had the best price and it showed in stock, and great shipping times.
There are several problems I incurred while on their website.
First off, their site is so complex, and so complicated, with so many tabs and each tab representing the same information with different texts that you can not really understand what one thing means.
The order was placed on a Sunday which means that the company had the order on hand Monday morning. I was told by a "Mark" in billing & shipping that the process time for my order was 24 hrs, and the frigde will be shipped Tuesday morning. Since I had paid an additional $69.99 for Express Freight which I was told is 3-5 days this means I would have my appliance by Saturday & YES we do ship on Saturdays when its a local address. Being that I am in Queens and they are in Brooklyn (distance of less than 15 miles) I would be able to have the Fridge by Saturday.
I double checked my order and called several times to make sure that this information was accurate because again the website has alot of conflicting information. No other website in the world is as complex as www.appliancesconnection.com where as you understand a damn thing of whats going on. So many logos and tabs and the website always re-directs you to a new page when you click on a link reffering to a special or a information tab.
Anyhow, 2 days have passed and now I am getting the understanding that I may have been lied to and I have been lied to pretty badly.
The In-home delivery, White glove with installation that I so gracefully paid $49.99 $25.00 which would have included all parts and accessories needed to install my appliance are NOT included and I need to supply the delivery guys with the tools, the parts, and I also need to bring my refrigerator to the front of the house for them because I have to pay another $25.00 to have them roll it from my kitchen to the front door regardless of distance (which in my case is only 13 feet)
I have never been scammed by a company who tries so hard to make believe that they are an enormous and honest corporation. All the names, and people who work there are maybe 2 or 3 employees that deviously make you believe there are over 20 employees and 8 different departments.
In reality the IT guy, the Billing supervisor, the Logistics manager, the Customer service rep, the general manager, the marketing division, and the sales people are only 2 different guys using different names and fake extensions to make you think that it is a legit business.
I did recieve the fridge already, and I went thru hell to get it, and after all this It definitely was not worth it and I DO NOT RECOMMEND them at all!
For $100 more I should have waited a month to get it from Home Depot. I must thrown away over $250 of food because my old refrigerator was broken and I ordered from appliancesconnection.com in desperate need of a new fridge and I truly believed I did good research. To my demise I made a big mistake and should have followed my instinct when I saw their usacomplaints.com reviews & their lousy BBB reports.
I disputed my credit card for the extra charges, and reported to BBB, and I have gotten some money back because my Credit Card company did find that I was not lying and deserved partial refunds.
I urge everyone to stay away, and use better companies like ajmadison.com & homedepot or sears.
