Trane, Trane Air Conditioning Manufactures Defect Texas

If your thinking of buying a Trane A/C unit STOP and read this first. I purchased a top of the line Trane unit in 2003. I believe that Trane A/C units have a manufactures defect that Trane is aware of, but has not resolved before their units leave the factory!

When I spoke with Trane Customer Service, they acknowledge the issue but say they have instructed their distributors to check, and if needed, fix the issue prior to installation. Therefore Trane will not stand behind its product. The
Distributor (Sansone Corporation, Deerfield Beach, Florida) recognises the issue as common and ongoing but claims
it is not their fault that Trane has not put in place a preventative measure to prevent the problem. The issue are 2
small copper pipes inside the A/C condensing housing that rub against each other until they fail. Trane can resolve
the issue prior to units leaving their factory by installing a spacer that does not dislodge. To rectify the issue with
my Trane unit, a repair in the amount of $700.00 and A/C refrigerant in the amount of $500.00 is required (Total $1,200.00). The technician from Sansone went on to say the best course of action is to replace the entire system (Approx. $5,000) due to the strong possibility that the loss of refrigerant has damaged the entire system. Shame on Trane. I have been a loyal customer for years and am shocked at the disconnect between the corporation ad its customers. They have pitted their customer against their distributorBad Company, Bad A/C Units, very disappointing.
