I have hired Doctor Duct Ltd. For duct cleaning services. Mr. Manny K. Gave me quotation over the phone. The contract price was $199 plus tax. The contract includes thorough duct cleaning using camera and brush in each vent and pipes. The estimated time for this service was given 3 hours. The average cost for duct cleaning is $100 but due to this extra service, I have accepted the higher contract price. The services performed from this firm are extremely poor. He did not use camera or brush in any vents at all. He spent less than one hour on this job. Duct cleaning was not worth at all. I was ripped off heavily.
He asked me that he will perform Furnace and Air condition service. He forced me so much that he can do it right now and he needs 1 hour for each job. He mentioned that both instruments required service right now. He charged me $150 for each job where as standard for this service is $89 for each job. The $89 quote is from well reputed firm such as Reliance. I used this firm before and their service was excellent.
The worse part of this job is that he has not done any kind of service of furnace and air condition. He just removed duct from both instruments and has not done any thing else. He just lubricated little bit of furnace only. He claimed that he is certified which I am doubt about it. He spent less than ½ on both jobs. He came back and asked me to replace one part costing $20. Later on he charged me for two parts $40. He did not replace the second part. The cost of this part is less than $5. He then sold me an air filter Clean Air Gold Series, Premium Electrostatic Air Filter for $100. He gave me life time warranty for this filter and told me that it has value more than $250. The filter is prepared by Modern Air Filter Corporation. I changed my mind and decided to return it next day. He refused to take it. With repeated efforts for a week, he refused to take it.
In my opinion this filter is worthless and the company is not taking it back. If the filter is life time warranted, what is harm to take it back which is not even used at all? He charged me GST on the invoice. I am not sure whether he will file GST with government. The address he provided on this invoice is wrong and there is not such office located at this place. I am heavily ripped off from this company and I just wanted that people should be aware of such company. He is using Home Depot truck to attract people. The website address for this company is www.drductcleaning.com. The mailing address on the website is not verifiable and there is no phone #.
I spoke to the director of the company whose name is SAM and phone # 647-629-0640. He has not taken any action. He has not done any thing at all. I paid more than $700 but the services I got are hardly $100 to $150. Please take some action to black list such companies. I am sure he will carry on such activities. Please help people to know how we can stop such scams.
