I purchased a Kenmore Elite stainless fridge about a year ago when I remodeled my kitchen. I love the look of the fridge, and I've had no issue with cooling. The problem is with the ice maker. Based on poor (and strange engineering), the ice maker spits out ice several times a day.By spits out ice, I mean it shoots out all over my hardwood floors. Every morning and evening, the first thing I must do, is go to my kitchen to clean up the wet mess, hoping it does not stain my hardwood floors. I've had a Sears repairman come out, and basically he said there is nothing wrong with the fridge, this is just an engineering flaw. This "flaw" has really become an unbearable hassle. So today, I've decided to disconnect the ice maker and simply buy bag ice. For a fridge that cost several thousand dollars, this is really a disappointing solution. Years ago, Kenmore used to be among the best. I guess times change.
