My husband and I purchased a Kenmore Elite fridge in July of 2009 from Sears. One morning we noticed the fridge had started making a loud noise and later that day it stoped working altogether. We contacted Sears immedately on to be told that they could not send service out until Thursday, we had to wait four days without a fridge and throw away much of our food that was purchased only days before the fridge stopped working. Once Sears sent there service out they could not simply make the repair that day they had to order parts... We had to wait another week. When it was repaired the evaporative motor and cicuit board had to be repalced. It was was under warranty then so we had no out of pocket costs except for the food we lost and lots of dining out. Now 1-30-2011 the fridge is now making the same noise it did only 8 months ago. We are out of warranty. We contacted Sears, customer service was less then helpful they were actually down right rude. We were transfered many times, hung up on twice, and then told they could send service out on Thursday, four days from now and waive the 65.00 service call fee but we would be responsible for parts and labor going foward. If it is the same parts as before we are looking at almost 500.00 out of pocket for a fridge that is not even two years old! We will never purchase anything from Sears again nor will we ever purchase a Kenmore product... What happened to the Sears that use to stand by the products that they sold? They are stealing your money and selling you garbage!
