AC&FurnaceDepot is a company that services and installs heating and air conditioning equipment. I had them service my AC system this year and they did a not bad job. The problem is the supply of very basic parts.
There was a small fitting that sells at a supply store for just over $5 - the technician had one in his tool box - and installed it. But he charged almost $200 for this part.
I looked it up on line, and confirmed it was the same part. Once thay come out to your house - they put the screws to you. Either you pay the service call (which included NO labour) plus a generous lebour fee, you have a choice to pay an almost 3000 percent markup on parts or he goes away - leaving you to pay the service call.
The labour fee is also mysterious. The technician was there for 1/2 an hour - and the labour fee is $240. That's almost $500 an hour.
When I called to speak to them about this - their reply was that all the company's are the same.
