Their website advertises $19 service; verbally they tell you it is a $29 charge plus labor but you are to receive an estimate first - no obligation. This was a simple lock swap - we provided the new lock, we have the keys, just need the old lock popped out and the new one popped in.
They marked it as a "lock-out" didn't come until the next day and a guy showed up in an
old Ford, wearing shorts and a T-shirt and proceeded to tell us it would be $180 to swap the lock. He didn't have a business card, a business license and when we told him we would not pay his steep price he argued, called his dispatcher on the phone and kept insisting we had to pay his mileage from San Jose. When questioned why he says he's "Gilroy" locksmith when he's coming from San Jose - the answer was "well he probably had another job in San Jose." Huh?
The dispatch called back threatening to "send us to collections" if we didn't pay her the $29
and that's OK - I am going to the BBB as this stinks to high heavens. And then, before he left, he actually locked himself out of his own car.
