I took my 2006 Mazda MPV to Monro because of cooling issues on July 12th. Turns out they found a bad water pump and belt. The performed the service of replacing the water pump and belt, replaced the thermostat and performed a flush and fill of the raditator on July 13th. However the car seemed to still read hot but they assured us that it was not really overheating and was a bad guage. We informed them we were going to Virginia Beach the next day and we wanted to make sure everything would be okay. We made it to Virginia Beach on July 15th the guage was reading hot and then it would go back to normal. On July 17th while visited family in Virginia the car overheated. We could not drive more than 2 miles. I have a family of 4 children and my wife. Here we are stuck in Virginia with a car that is overheating. On July 17th we had our van towed to a Mazda dealership in Newport News VA. We find out that our radiator is bad and will need to be replaced. The total bill are 1100 dollars but the part would not be in until July 18th, the next day. My wife and I decided to trade the car in and buy another vehicle. We returned to Ohio July 18th. On July 19th we went to Monro and asked them to at least explain to us how this happened and we wanted them to wipe away the 640 dollars we spent with them. They refused and said they fixed the problem and so nothing they can do. My issue here is very poor customer service from Monro. They sent away a family of 6 on a out of state trip knowing something was still wrong with the vehicle. I missed a day of work I was not planning on, my son missed a day of football camp he needed to be at, we ended up with expenses we had not planned on and we were stuck in another state with four children. I am not happy with the level of customer service and I feel as though I was lied to becuase they didn't take the proper steps to make sure I had a properly repaired car. Please help!!!
