Used QuikRete product number 8620-09 for mortar repair, I used per the instructions on the tube's label. After applying, the product turned into a very soft playdough like feel (it was suppose to become firm) and developed a slime like outer covering. Within a few days it fell off the wall to be repaired. Now, I have used this before and never had any problems; however, I feel that the tubes that were purchaed at Lowe's had something wrong from QuikRete. I called customer service (800-282-5828) around 6:00pm to tell them of the problem. The service rep could care less, in fact she even stopped me from explaining what was wrong. I was then given a Columbus, Ohio number 614-885-4406. I called this number and same thing, QuikRete would not offer a replacement or even let me talk to a technicial staff about what was happening. I was told to take it up with the Lowe's store from where it was purchased. I believe that this product was faulty from QuikRete and I feel that I was treated badly. Is this how QuikRete operates? I could not even explain the application where I was using the mortar repair, first thing the rep in Columbus said was "take it up with Lowe's".
