Robert and Leonard Alex of Alex Brothers Construction began a home addition in June.in October they had been paid $45,000 for construction up to that point. On October 10 Robert demanded more money to finish the job although he had been paid well through the next phase of construction. When I declined to pay him any more and demanded he produce receipts and time records for the work already completed, he refused. He then said if we were not going to pay him more money he could not complete the job. He then refused to continue the work.
Alex Brothers Construction Company, Robert and Leonard Alex were served with a lawsuit in February. The case is pending. They owe the homeowners approximately $25,000. There are approximately 20 past judgements against Alex Brothers Construction Company from Essex County, New Jersey courts.
