Customer Complaint

On Sunday July 31st, my sister-in-law, husband and I took my 93 yr old mother in law to look for a pair of shoes. She found a pair in the color she wanted and then wanted to order the same shoe in a different color. Upon trying to purchase the items, she tried to use her credit card and the following happened. After putting the items in the system, she proceeded to ask her for identification. My mother - in-law is 93 years old, she does not drive nor does she have any identification other than her insurance cards. After telling the sales person this, she said she had to have some form of identification. My poor mother in law who has trouble standing for a long perior of time, did not understand what was going on, but tried to find something to use for identification, she finally found her out of date drivers license. (She is unable to drive but, still had her old license. She hasn't driven in many many years.) The license she had, had her picture on it, her address and signature. Whether it was out of date or not, it still had the information the needed, but no, she said she needed to get a new identification card if she wanted to make another purchase with her credit card at your store. The only way she makes any purchases is with her credit card, and her bill is paid each month by her daughter. She does not carry but a little bit of cash with her, for her protection. My husband made a purchase at the same store, the same day while he was waiting for us, his purchase was for a considerable larger amount, but he was not asked for any identification. He is 66 yrs old. She is a 98 yr old woman. How embarrasing.
I can see asking for identification, but that was ridiculous. She really doesnt look like someone that would go around stealing other peoples credit cards. I think this store should be ashamed of themselves. Quite embarrasing to me and her daughter.in any case, I wanted to voice my complaint. Hopefully someone elses 93 yrs old mother won't have this happen to her.
