When I purchased this machine I paid under $800 with a promise not to tell a soul. I requested the box and they told me that they would come and box it up whenever I planned to move. I still wanted the box and the guy never returned my old vacuum cleaner, which I requested and they agreed to.
I called and the salesman was very rude and told me he would call ME back. I did not get an operational booklet with the machine, and it was not a new machine because the bag had dirt in it!!! I never received a call, so I went to the address on the card and no one was there.
When I called the number again a few days later it had been disconnected. I had to pay for a booklet (again) and had to have my machine looked at $35 to unclog the darn thing and I only used it twice to vacuum my rug.
I sold my Kirby because I hated the memory of the expierence and it was a hard task to vacuum with it when you are pregnant. It is wicked heavy. Best suction though. Angry that they would not give me a box and the other people that sold them would not either.
I do miss my Oreck! They still never returned it to me! I will never ever buy another one again.
