These people are not just scam artists, they are criminal. They are frauds, and thieves. They use the classic chimney scam, take yourmoney, and do not do the promised work. You can verify my claims about this. Hereis a site with multiple other reviews of this so-called company to confirmexactly what I am posting here: They initiated an unsolicited telephone call, for a"cleaning." Unfortunately, we agreed.in the process, they gave thecompany name as Chimney Service, which is a lie. And gave us a call-back number of845-895-1836, which only rings a fax of a trucking Co. Unrelated to Clean CutChimney. They arrived, in an unmarked truck, two very rough and tumbleunprofessionals. Total hacks. They "checked" the chimney, and told usit was in terrible shape. Told us that there was no liner, no mortar, threw afew bricks down, etc.
Long story short, we were told that we needed to agree to the work today (red light!), otherwisethe price would go up (red light!), and pay cash or a check (red light!), sothat they would not have to charge NY sales tax (red light!). We bought nearly $3,000 worth of work, someof which was done, but we still do not have a fireplace damper, the weathercaps on the top that we paid extra for, nor all the bricks recemented, and afew other things. During their work for us, they incompetently managed toturn off our hot water heater, so we had no hot water the next morning. And did not so much as return a call made tothem about this at the time, much less come back to turn it on.
You cannot reach the company to talk to someone, ever. They only have an answering machine. And have returned none of our calls, ever. Half the time their voice mail is full so youcant leave a callback request at all. I wish I could give this rating zero stars. This "company" richly deserves thatrating. Avoid this Co. At ALL costs!!!
