Precision Garage Be Careful for Overcharging and Claims that Parts are Broken When they are Not

Be Very Careful when accepting their recommendations for work. My garage door had the cable come of the drum and the door started working. I asked the technician to put the cable back on the drum and he told me it could not be done because (a) it was dangerous and (b) once the cable comes off the drum, it no longer will work. I was quoted $370 dollars to replace both drums and cables and to replace my torsion spring. I was told that the torsion spring had to be unwound to replace the drums and once it was unwound it could not be re-used.
In short, despite having NO BROKEN PARTS, I was quoted $370 to essentially rebuild my garage door. I declined the service and paid a $65 service fee. I was able to have the cable put back on the drum by a very reputable garage door service man who charged me $30 for an hour of his time. Door works perfectly fine.
Watch out for these guys. They will sell you something you dont need when a simple fix is possible.
