Silestone warrants their product for 15 years. I've had the counter tops for 5 years. Over the past few months circles of various sizes have appeared on the bar top and not on any other of the counters.
Silestone is suppose to be a sealed non-pourous quartz. The installer told me to clean with ordinary dish water or windex type cleaners. To this, I followed to the letter because the stone is not inexpensive and the kitchen looked wonderful.
In Jan of this year the installer came back to my house and inspected the kitchen counter tops and said in all his years he had never seen anything like this. (He is also the "Certified Representative" for Silestone!!! The circles are the same size as a pop can or my tea picture or one of my drinking glasses. One can not feel the circles, they are below the surface.
After months of waiting on a warranty answer, several phone calls, I recieved a letter of denial saying that I had chemically damaged the counter. Mind you that none of my other counter tops have this problem even though they were installed at the same time and cleaned in the same way.
The installer/factory rep says I personally did the damage to the counter top according to the denial letter. Yet, face to face or on the phone he says he did not and that it was not in his hands.
I would like for everyone to know that a warranty from this company or person means nothing. Now I have this counter top that looks horrible and cost a lot of money.
