Seller beware. This is a scam and the company didn't even try to argue with me when I told them so

I did not fall for this scam and this is why. I hope you are reading this before you fell for it. If now call and cancel right away because apparently they don't even wait until they receive your contract to charge your credit card. They charge right away and then you only have 3 days to cancel.

T.R.I. Contacted me yesterday regarding the sale or rent of my Wyndham timeshare. I asked what it would cost me to sell it and George Leonard, the director of sales, told me that the fee would be $1000 and once the sale closed I would be reimbursed all of that money plus I would get over $16,000 from the sale of my timeshare.

George was very kind the whole conversation as I was asking questions and he told me pretty much his whole life story. I am not sure why but I can only assume it was to gain my trust. He then told me we could start the contract today and they could charge my credit card. But, then when I told him that I would have to talk to my husband because I didn't know where we would get the $1000 he got really upset and told me that I just told him that I could make the decision on my own without my husband. I told him that I could but I just didn't know where we would get the money to start the contract with so I couldn't do it just then. He was not kind the rest of the conversation. Thank goodness that my 4-year-old son came in with a bloody nose so that I could get off the phone quickly!

I began thinking that this was a scam though because George said that I would get all of the money from the sale and that I would be reimbursed that $1000. How does this company make any money then if they don't really charge commission or a listing fee? It would be impossible to stay in business. So I looked it up on this website and saw all of these other reports. (Thank you all by the way for filing your reports. It possible saved me $1000!)

So I called the company back and left a general message telling them not to call me anymore as this was not the first time they had done so. I told them how rude George was to me and I also told them how upset I was that they tried to scam me and other families that were struggling for money.

Well, George called me back today to see if I had talked to my husband and what we had decided. I told him we had talked about it but that we looked it up and saw it was a scam. To which George replied, "Oh, you saw it was a scam? Okay." Now what kind of company would not try to argue with you about that unless they really were a scam?!
