We received a flyer from Maximum Air Care offering toclean all the ducts for $55, including a free dryer vent cleaning to boot. So, we called and made a reservation to have the service done, and right on timeTuesday morning on Dec. 8th. The technician and his assistant showedup, and the first thing he said was he would like to inspect everything first. Well, after about a half hour of looking at the ducts, and our rooftop heatingand cooling system, which I should let you know was replaced just two yearsago, he informed us that we had a serious mold problem. So, with alarms goingoff in our heads, and my wife who does have allergy problems showing concern, we asked him to give us a cost to correct this problem. Well, the simple $55duct cleaning program now turned into a $1000 super cleaning deal, which wewere told would remove the mold guaranteed for life, and that they wouldinclude a free electrostatic air filter, and come out every year to clean andinspect our system. Well, after careful thought, we decided to go ahead withthe service. I must say, they did a very thorough job, and when they were done, the main cold air return looked very clean compared to before they started. Butheres where my concern began, when I looked over the invoice, there wasnothing that stated the claims that the technician made as to the companycoming out every year to clean and inspect our system, and when I questionedhim, he said that the box that was marked 2 year would be checked off each yearthey came out, thus extending the service as stated. So, with a little bit ofreluctance, I went ahead and signed the invoice and wrote a check for$1,097.51, which included the total cost plus taxes. With a nagging feelingstill lingering, I began doing some web searches on the company, and have found they have had numerous complaints with the Better Business Bureau, and another consumer complaint site.
