I recently purchased a $49 for a whole-house air duct and dryer vent cleaning (a $279 value) needless to say this was a rip off. The deal calls for all ducts in a single HVAC system, up to 12 and 1 dryer vent cleaning. What I got was 2 guys who came in vacuumed out 2 vents on the floor skipped the remaining vents in the ceiling and refused to clean the return and claimed it was full of mold, which I later had checked and it was just thick dust build up. Then they took the aluminum flex pipe off my dryer and clean out it and the back of my dryer but did not clean the actual pipe that runs from the laundry room to the outside of the house.
What I got in the end was an estimate from $389.00 to remove what they called mold (DUST) and spray my vents and an estimate to install a special light in my furnace that would keep my home clean as a hospital for an additional $349.00. I declined since I am not performing any surgery in my house.
This was a disappointment like so many other Groupon deals. I tried to leave feedback on Groupon but could not find a place to do it like Angies list does. What should have taken an hour took these guys less that 30 minutes to not event do a complete job of cleaning all the vents. The purpose of this Groupon seems just to upsell to anyone buying it.
