This started after my wife and I received an advertising mailer and we saw this company 'Air Care Solutions' offering a bundled package, it was actually called the Gold Package for $89, it consisted of cleaning the Air Ducts, the Dryer vent, cleaning and servicing the Air conditioning unit which included adding freon, etc and an air filter with a lifetime warranty. We decided to take advantage of this offer since it was so cheap. We called the company and they came out the next day to do the service, there was actually a technician and a helper that came over. My wife was home at the time and she said the helper began to clean the air ducts by attaching a machine to the vents and the other technician went to the garage to look at the Air Handler. The technician that went to look at the air handler came in and told my wife that there was a lot of mold on the handler and that she should really have that cleaned because it will affect the children's health so my wife asked how much to clean it and they said $590 and then she got on the phone and called me and told me what the technician said and how much it would be and I told her I do not want to pay so much for something without getting a 2nd opinion from someone we know who is a retired air cond tech. Then as my wife told the guy what I said I could hear him in the background tell my wife that the longer we wait the more it will affect the family and the kids and that this is something that should be done and that they can do it now while the Air Handler is apart. I continued to say no to my wife and she told the technician and he immediatly started to wrap things up to leave and my wife had to remind them to to the Dryer vent. While the helper was doing the dryer vent the technician still kept trying to sell my wife on the mold cleaning and gave her the receipt to sign which she did. After the dryer vent cleaning my wife reminded them aboout the unit outside but when they went outside they just left. My wife called me and told me they had left without looking at the A/C unit outside or doing the service they offered in the mailer and that we paid for, my wife said she should have waited to pay them until they finished everything but she was distracted by our small children and the technician trying to sell the Mold cleaning. She contacted the company and they said someone would call her back so we waited for a couple of days and no one called so then I called and explained the situation and the woman on the other line said Nairobi the office manager would be calling me back soon but 2 weeks went by and nothing.
I finally called back again and told them that I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and other agencys and also cancel the charge on my card and low and behold Nairobi finally called me back. I explained to her everything and then she told me that the technician wrote on the receipt the AC cleaning inside and outside and I then told her that he wrote no such thing and that he only wrote under Airduct cleaning that the unit was cleaned, he did not write anything under HVAC services, she then told me that to them because the technician checked off unit cleaning under air duct service it means that he cleaned the AC unit as well inside and outside, I told her he did no such thing and she said that is too bad sir but we are not going to send another technician out there. I told her then I have no choice but to report the company and also try to put a stop on my credit card and she said to do what I had to and that she will deal with the credit card company. This company as you can see has poor customer service, I wish I would have done my home work and researched them before calling, this certainly was too good to be true.
